Prior to being settled by Europeans in 1836, Orlando was inhabited by Seminole and Creek Native Americans. Years later, this land was mostly used for cattle ranges and became a hub for the citrus industry. Walt Disney World opened in 1971, making Orlando a top stop for tourists. John F. Kennedy Space Center is close by, allowing both tourists and locals to commute from Orlando to this area. |
